Measures at arrival to Swedish ports - paragraph 16
Prior ships arrival (or latest immediately upon berthing) in first Swedish port or terminal, the Captain should present information considering the health condition onboard to the Swedish Customs or Coastguard:
1. If there is any kind of suspicion of contagious disease onboard.
2. If the ship is arriving from an area internationally declared as contaminated area and the ship is arriving within the incubation time period.
3. If there is anyone onboard the ship who has previously visited an area internationally declared as contaminated and if the ship is arriving within the incubation time period.
When the Customs or Coastguard receives information about any suspicion of contagious disease, these authorities should immediately inform specialist Doctor in contagious diseases and Socialstyrelsen (The National Board of Health and Welfare about the situation.
According to paragraph 18, no ships are allowed to be refused to arrive at any Swedish port, even if the ship is carrying contagious disease onboard but the ship will most probably be rerouted to a port offering quarantine services.
